Did the punishment fit the crime? That is what you may wonder after reading the account of Achan. Achan's crime may seem small, but his punishment is heavy. Achan's story was preserved for us not as a crazy Old Testament tale, but as a warning. Sin is serious. It always has consequences for us and for those we love. Let us flee temptation and strive to desire what God wants for us, not what we want apart from him.
